Who we are

This policy describes how Toolbench by Aaffiliates (“Toolbench”, “we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you visit our website, use our browser-based tools, or interact with optional account features. It applies together with any feature-specific notices shown in the product.

How our tools handle your files

Many utilities process images, PDFs, documents, and other files entirely on your device using modern browser APIs. In those cases, the file content typically does not need to be uploaded to our servers for the core conversion or editing to work.

If a tool or flow clearly states that it sends data to our servers— for example, to create or store a short link when you are signed in— we process only what is reasonably necessary to provide that feature (such as the destination URL, metadata needed to operate the link, and account identifiers so you can manage it later).

Information we may collect

Depending on how you use Toolbench, we may process categories such as:

  • Account and authentication data. If you create an account or sign in, we may process identifiers such as email address, user ID, session tokens, and security-related events needed to keep your account working and secure.
  • Feature data you submit. When a server-backed feature is used (for example, short links), we may store the inputs and settings required for that feature, such as target URLs, custom paths where supported, and timestamps.
  • Usage and technical data. We may collect information such as approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, pages or tools viewed, and diagnostic data that helps us operate and improve the service.
  • Communications. If you contact us, we retain the content of your message and contact details so we can respond and follow up as needed.

First-party analytics on the website

We may record basic navigation events in our own database (not a third-party analytics script), including the page path, an anonymous browser session identifier stored in local storage, optional utm_* campaign parameters from the page URL, the hostname of the referring page if your browser sends a referrer, aggregate Core Web Vitals metrics for performance, and a limited number of uncaught JavaScript error messages. These are used to understand traffic, improve speed and reliability, and are available only to administrators of the service.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure Toolbench and your account;
  • Operate server-backed features (for example, creating and resolving short links, dashboards, or limits tied to your plan);
  • Measure usage, fix bugs, improve performance, and understand which parts of the product are most helpful;
  • Show advertising where we use ad partners, and measure ad delivery or effectiveness where applicable;
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and detect, prevent, or address abuse, fraud, or security issues.

Legal bases (where applicable)

If you are in a region that requires a “legal basis” for processing (such as the European Economic Area or the UK), we rely on bases that may include: performing our contract with you; legitimate interests in running and improving a free, sustainable service (balanced against your rights); compliance with legal obligations; and, where required, your consent (for example, for certain cookies or marketing, if we ask for it separately).

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for purposes such as keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, reducing fraud, and—where we use them—analytics and advertising. You can control many cookies through your browser settings or industry opt-out tools where available. Blocking certain cookies may limit sign-in or personalized features.

When you first visit, we ask for your consent before enabling first-party analytics and diagnostics (traffic measurement and performance data stored in our own systems). You can accept all, reject non-essential categories, or customize choices. You may change your decision anytime using Cookie settings in the site footer; your choice is remembered in your browser.

Short links and click data

When you create short links while signed in, we store the data needed to redirect visitors and show you management features. We may count clicks or related events for analytics, abuse prevention, or account dashboards. Short links may expire, be removed for policy reasons, or be deleted when you remove them or close your account, as described in the product or your account area.

Third parties and service providers

We use vendors for hosting, authentication, databases, analytics, advertising, email delivery, customer support tooling, and other infrastructure. They process information only according to our instructions or their role in delivering the service, and their own privacy notices describe additional details about their practices.

International transfers

We may process or store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) to protect data transferred across borders.

Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Retention periods depend on the type of data: for example, account data may be kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, disputes, or legal compliance; server logs may be retained for shorter rolling periods unless needed for security investigations.

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No online service can guarantee perfect security; you should use strong passwords, protect your devices, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Children

Toolbench is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children for targeted marketing. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can often exercise choices through your account settings where available.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA regarding categories of personal information collected, disclosure, and opt-out of certain “sales” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, subject to exceptions under law. We describe our practices in this policy; contact us to submit a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where changes are material and required by law, we will provide additional notice or seek consent as appropriate.
